Brad Parker / BIO

Brad Parker grew up outside Carthage, MS.  Raised on a chicken farm, he spent most of his free time working on the family farm or spending time outdoors.    He spent every school holiday visiting his father on the Mississippi Gulf Coast.  Fishing was always an important aspect of his life.  While home he caught catfish in the rivers, and pond jumped catching bream, redbellies, white perch, etc.  Then while visiting the coast, he chased speckled trout, redfish, and flounder.  After many years of college he accepted a job with Ingalls Shipyard as an Industrial Engineer.

He began building rods after becoming frustrated with production rods on the market.  Nothing really fit his needs, and everything was too heavy.  Shortly after beginning this rod building venture, he became ProStaff for American Tackle Company.  This enabled him to travel to industry shows and to connect with other rodbuilders.  He now specializes in building light, sensitive fishing rods that function.   He has found a niche with custom handles that enable him add some flair while keeping the rods light, sensitive, and functional.
